iPlanner 3.1 Released (Alerts are finally here!)

After months of anticipation, Apple's iOS4 was released last week, along with the iPhone 4. As a result, a usable alerts system is FINALLY available and version 3.1 has them! Don't see alerts on your assignment list? Go to Settings -> iPlanner to enable them. Once that is done, alerts can be created for the exact time that an assignment is due, or one of several options prior to the due time. Alerts are also fully supported in repeating assignments!

This is undoubtedly the most requested feature. While push notifications have existed since iPhone OS 3.0, they are simply unreliable. If you don't have data service or Wi-Fi, a push notification is not going to make it to your device. This is especially troublesome for iPod Touch users. Well, with the local alerts used in iPlanner 3.1, the alerts __don't__ rely on any outside sources. This is way more reliable than push, and iPlanner is the first assignment planner on the app store to have it!

NOTE: There were some bugs in iPlanner 3.0, which was on the market for about 36 hours. If you downloaded 3.0, please go back to iTunes and update to 3.1. It has been tested to work on an iOS4 device. Sorry for the inconvenience!

  1. Please continue your updates on this application! It is the only one in its class and we can't have it quit. I'm about to make a purchase, and if I like it I have MANY people I can recommend it to. But there are a few thinks making me hesitant, 1 is your lack of recent updates on this blog, 2 is the reports of (critical) bugs in the app's 'user ratings'. I saw one guy on Sep 13th made some very good suggestions. please continue your work it will be greatly appreciated!
